The business unit is set up to deliver against the objectives of UCAS charity and operate UCAS Media (UCAS’s commercial subsidiary) to help fund UCAS’s charitable operations. For the charity, our objective is to provide everyone with the information, advice and guidance they need to make informed decisions on their next steps. We deliver on this via our media ecosystem which consists of information, advice and guidance on ucas.com, our social media feeds across various channels, email, live events and webinars.

For UCAS Media, our business objective is to generate revenue through paid collaborations with higher education providers who wish to improve their position in the market, and commercial brands who want to reach students. All brands wishing to use our media ecosystem and insight services must align with our framework. All profits generated are gift aided to UCAS the charity and in turn fund the charitable objectives, such as our recent announcement that students in receipt of free school meals will no longer need to pay the UCAS application fee.  

About the role

About the role

Key Customer Managers help clients achieve their strategic objectives by providing excellent relationship management, service & support. This role will build and maintain professional customer relationships, identifying value-based solutions to fit the needs of the business, and deliver targeted revenue for a portfolio of high value accounts within an assigned segment.

With support from relevant stakeholders across UCAS, the Key Customer Manager will sell cross channel marketing solutions, events and insight that deliver high quality results for their portfolio of clients. This customer facing role will provide support and advice to both new and existing customers, with the objective of maintaining existing revenue streams and upselling new and existing services, developing a high value contact network within higher value or high potential accounts.

 

Key accountabilities:

• To achieve a set revenue target (personal and team) by selling a value-based solution to maximise ROI for the customer and maintain long term relationships.

• Managing your individual accounts, sales plans and activities to ensure we are demonstrating true value and customer advocacy.

• To produce clear sales plans, documentation in CRM so that we have complete transparency and consistency in how we are delivering for our customers.

Skills, qualifications, and experience

• Significant experience in Sales, Business Development and Account Management with a strong customer focus and orientation

• Strong understanding of a wide range of customer groups, with a proven ability to establish their mission, business model and workflows

• Detailed relevant market and/or competitor knowledge

• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with an ability to deliver and communicate at all levels within an organisation, including C-level

• A specialist knowledge of a range of selling skills, identifying, developing, and articulating a sophisticated proposition.

• Proven ability to develop and execute a sales execution plan (account plan, territory plan)

• Significant experience of problem solving—ability to understand, articulate, structure, and solve client needs

• Strong communication, selling and persuasion skills

• Detailed knowledge of CRM software and admin systems

• Highly motivated self-starter who can manage their work independently

Package

Salary - £35,000 (OTE £52,500)
